A generation is a group of people born within a certain time period who's shared age and experiences shape how they view the world.
Don't sleep on these mindsets.
Because they essentially dictate the values, behaviors, and rules of our society.
I'm only covering relevant ones. Sorry, Baby Boomers... Though your history is wild, people your age just aren't that relevant. Y'all are retiring, and quite frankly, I'd be damned if you are reading this. If you are, kudos to you for "being with it", as they say.
So which one's are relevant as humanity advances onward?
Keynote Experiences:
Gen Xers are a middle child generation. Being after born Baby Boomers and before Millennials left them in a unique spot. That spot where all the glory has been given to the Baby Boomers and the indulgences given to millennials. The kinda of spot that sounds much-like middle child syndrome.
Keynote Experiences:
In 2015, millennials overtook Gen X having the largest living population.
When compared to other generations, they are significantly less likely to participate in traditional practices such as marriage, religion, joining the military, and being involved with political parties. However, due to the controversies and issues arising from our current world governments, they are slowly playing an increasingly heavier roll in modern-day politics. With society shifting more towards the internet, millennials have begun to have a larger and larger voice in modern day politics.
Keynote Experiences:
Because I'm with this generation. I'll refer to them in the first-person.
We grew up in a more anxiety ridden time due to worries about terrorism and growing up in the after-effects of the recession. No, we do not know a world without modern-tech and expect it to continue growing at a rapid pace.
I personally feel sad for past generations didn't have the luxuries we have today (el-oh-el, but isn't tht always the case?).
We have grown up to with a higher access to resources compared to any other generation.
We have grown up with a black president.
We have grown up with same-sex marriage being a constitutional right.
We have grown up seeing the debt our governments have forced us in.
We have grown up seeing the intense inequalities in the world due to differences in culture.
We have grown up to appreciate experiences over novelty items.
We have grown up learning and spreading even more disruptive ideas than even our millennial predecessors.
I see as our generation as a very community-driven one.
We often take social issues for granted. Because we don't understand why older generations made them an issue in the first place. We live in a multi-racial, multi-sexual, and multi-cultural world. That's fact, not an issue. That's why we could either be seen as insensitive to such topics. We hate that our predecessors cannot have their minds made up over the most fair and obvious solutions.
That's why we'll set our sight for bigger goals. We want to face the BIG issues.
We want to increase the effort in life longevity.
We want to see are more fair economic model. One that benefits everyone.
We want to expand humanity through space.
Like every passing generation, we simply just want more.
And it's because of this, I believe we'll be the one the most entrepreneurial generations ever.
