How Fleeting Is the Moment? / Monomad Challenge [Eng/Esp]

This is a city that speaks for itself; I just walk, and without even trying, little stories sometimes emerge: in the bike taxis—which are now so numerous and so necessary—or in the curiosity of someone watching me... There are so many stories that choosing among them feels quite difficult.

Esta es una ciudad que se explica sola; yo solo camino y, sin pretenderlo, a veces van apareciendo pequeñas historias: en el bicitaxi, que son ya muchos y tan necesarios; en la intriga del que me observa... Son tantas historias que escogerlas se me hace bien complejo.

Perhaps because of the fleeting nature of the moment—seconds, and it’s already gone—maybe because it will never happen again. That’s why I make a point of documenting everything in my path.

Quizás por lo efímero del momento, segundos y ya ha desaparecido, tal vez para no repetirse nunca más. Por eso me empeño en documentar todo a mi paso.

Why do I leave the colors behind? It’s not that the city lacks them—in fact, there are areas where they’re very striking—but I don’t want distractions; I want to see things as they are.

¿Por qué dejo atrás los colores? No es que la ciudad no los tenga, de hecho hay zonas donde son muy llamativos, pero no quiero distracciones, quiero ver las cosas como son.

Today is one of those days when I feel reflective. I try to avoid them, believe me. Sometimes I don’t want to dwell on things so much, but there are times when I just can’t help it.

Hoy es uno de esos días en los que me siento reflexivo. Los evito, créanme. A veces no quiero meditar tanto, pero hay ocasiones en las que no puedo evitarlo.
