ENG

The surprising call of my little one (26) did not bode well, he only picks up the phone when he is in trouble again.
So also this time.
For quite some time he shared an apartment with the boy ( 21 ) of my sweetheart, in the city. Both had a reasonably well-paid job in a luxury hotel and everything seemed as if the boys had their lives under control.
But then the employment contracts ran out and the owner of the apartment announced his own need.
Good advice was expensive because finding a secure job at this time of the year is not easy here and without money no apartment.
So they asked me if there was a possibility to move into the caravans on my land over the winter.
What a raven father I would have been if I had not agreed.

SOURCE

Now I am also a father, who was allowed to collect already plentifully experiences and knows only too well, that with the two the danger exists to arrange it comfortably in the hotel daddy and to hope for the fact that the family oldest one cares for their well-being, while they let the winter sunshine on the belly.
Therefore, there were from my side hard conditions, to spend the winter on the farm.
A solidarity contribution per head, of 50 euros per month seemed appropriate to me so that the boys can use the laundry service, Internet, bathroom use, regularly fresh bed linen, heating, etc...
Another condition was, clearly delimited living areas, ie, I want to see the guys not constantly in the house on the sofa in front of the TV, but on their " campsite ", which they can set up as they want.
The third and most important rule was the following:
In the case of unemployment and thus no income which ensures a bearable survival, the available manpower is made available to me and at least 6 hours a day for board and lodging slaved.
The two know their Muelli and know what that means, pure exploitation, the status of a slave.

The day before yesterday the first one moved in, my mutt.
Joyfully and excitedly he told me that he had found a job not far from here, which he can even reach by bicycle, even a fixed contract will be signed.
I was pleased, he was relieved.
So far there is no trace of the other one. Has he perhaps become afraid to roam with me through the Medronho groves and to cultivate other people's lands with heavy equipment and sought refuge with his biological father for the time being until he has found a job?
The future will tell.

Yesterday 7:00 in the morning the lights suddenly went out in the house and I heard the fuse fly out.
My suspicion that I had failed as an electrician when laying the cables to the caravans, was confirmed in an impressive way.
Looking out the window, I saw black smoke billowing up, exactly at the place where I had installed the junction boxes.
I immediately pulled the main plug at the house, ran to the distributor, and extinguished the fire that had started there.
My son came scurrying over, visibly distraught and reported that he just wanted to make a coffee on the old hotplate when suddenly it began to crackle everywhere.
Shortly thereafter, he rode his bike to work and I began to rethink my concept of power supply for the campers and started all over again to re-route all the cables.

About two hours later I inspected my work, donated a new coffee maker, a new hot plate and made a successful test run.
Reassured that the new installation made a more trustworthy impression than the predecessor, I began to fix the main cable with cable ties in the trees and then wanted to go Medronho berry picking.
But at the last jump from the ladder, I came up so unluckily that it twisted my foot so stupidly that an hour later I could only hop on one leg.
But even that didn't last long, a sharp little stone lay in the way, and with a kick, I hopped onto it and it bored into the ball of the foot of the still usable leg.
That was it, my sweetheart dragged me to bed and there I spent the rest of the day, practically unable to move.

Later, the swollen foot was embalmed and bandaged. With some skill and the help of a bar stool, which had to serve as a kind of walker, I was now at least limping around the house again.
At dinner, the child was invited, we took stock of how the first day of living together had worked out.
Almost torched the hut, unexpected investment in new kitchen appliances and a badly damaged elderly gentleman moving around with a barstool was the result.
The comment of my " little one " was, wow and that was already on the first day.
I guess even he didn't expect that.

At night in bed, my sweetheart turned to me and said that it would be nice if the children came closer again and you were together.
With a pain-distorted face I looked at her and replied, of course, my darling, you just have to keep telling yourself, again and again!
It's beautiful, beautiful, so beautiful, how could we stand without it?
Oh, it's beautiful, I murmured and finally fell asleep.

PS. Today the day looks a bit better, with no morning catastrophe, and also the feet swell slowly back down to normal size and the bar stool is back in its original place.
However, sweetheart forced me to a day of rest, which I spend in front of the PC and therefore this story has become a bit longer than usual.

Special thanks to those who made it this far!
Greetings and see you soon again! 😎
