When I was in the army I met a guy from Alaska who used to show us pictures of his "backyard" up there. He had pictures of Moose and Grizzly, and I would show him pictures of gators in our pasture in Florida. They'd roam when we had little rain... granted normally end up in someones swimming pool. lol. Neither of us could believe our back 40 was that damn wild and pretty . I grew up over there (Dads American, Mom's English) and have seen every state except Hawaii and Alaska. I'll never ceased to be amazed at the sheer mid boggling amount of big country you guys have in Alaska. Your pics of it always make your blog worth a visit bash.
