I have just watched an episode of The Last Detective, a British detective drama. I chanced on this old show recommended and probably recently uploaded on YouTube.
This is apparently a serious drama series with a tinge of humour. The episode opened with the detective being called to a double-storey house to look into a problem. When he arrived, there were already two policemen standing watch outside a closed room. They were having ice cream!
When the detective got into the room, a man was standing on the tiny balcony threatening to jump or blow himself up. Strapped around his huge abdomen were rows of frankfurters and a ticking alarm clock!!! This explained why the policemen outside the door were eating ice cream and not bothered at all of the potential threat a few feet away.
It was hilarious. I found myself laughing loud. I know today will be a good day for me. I will watch the entire episode and if it's any good, I will lookout for other episodes of The Last Detective.
