Nature lovers, how are you all?
Today I would like to share with you a great moment of macro photography in a grassy field next to my garden. While I was passing by the field, I came across this amazing female Pond Wolf Spider (Pardosa pseudoannulata).
You can clearly see in the picture that she is carefully carrying a large, round egg sac along the back of her body. While other spiders hide their eggs in their webs, wolf spider mothers always carry their eggs or babies with them to protect them from predators. Such a wonderful sight of maternal love in the insect world is truly extraordinary.
Since I mainly take pictures around my agricultural land and ponds, I often come across this species of spider. Because they act as excellent natural friends in controlling harmful insects in the crop fields.
I am so happy to be able to capture such close-up images of how this spider is carefully guarding its unborn offspring.
