This is an insect—a truly beautiful creature found in the natural environment. It possesses a natural beauty that I might not have fully appreciated had I not seen it with my own eyes. This lovely insect is known as a member of the subfamily Melanoplinae. It is quite familiar to me, and personally, I am very fond of it. Upon encountering it, I took the time to admire its beauty; because I found it so appealing, I captured a few photographs using my mobile phone, which I am sharing with my friends today.

I spotted this insect resting on a leaf of a dead plant amidst some weeds, just to the north of the school where I work; I found it quite fascinating. I know this insect as a grasshopper. I often see such insects around homes or perched on the leaves of plants in agricultural fields—in fact, I frequently come across them in large numbers on taro (kachu) plants. I have also observed many times that these insects move from one place to another by suddenly leaping. Anyway, I am sharing a few photos I took of this insect so that my friends can also appreciate its beauty. Thank you to all my friends.
