One of the things i have noticed while looking around the splinterlands marketplace is the low price for cards with the recharge ability. Why is this? While the downsides to the ability seem obvious, the upsides are more niche and take a little bit more thought, and using these cards is also very satisfying. let's discuss! First some quick basics.
What does recharge do:
For the player that might be new to the game. Recharge is an ability that changes the way a monster attacks. Instead of attacking every turn it attacks every other turn. The trade off: It deals triple damage! Combining this with other abilities and buffs can give some crazy results!
Cards that have recharge:
Are recharge monsters undervalued?
To check the current prices for cards with a specific ability i use peakmonsters and put the ability in the filter, as shown below.
when you were to compare these prices to their their colleagues of the same element, rarity and collection. You will find that the recharge cards are priced very cheaply in comparison. This statement is untrue for uriel but holds up in general.
Why are these cards so cheap? In my opinion this is because of the fact that correct application of these cards is relatively hard to execute and the negatives are very obvious.
Obvious downsides of recharge are:
Is there hope for recharge cards?
After listing this quite big list of negatives one might wonder if there is any point at all of using these cards. Of course i might be missing valid negatives and or positives and i would love to discuss this in the comments!

Discussion
I personally LOVE using recharge cards, Because of the satisfaction and fun factor of using these cards. But considering the riskyness of using these cards i can see why these prices are so low. I some rulests however thes cards can be a blessing. Battles where cards like Baakjira or gelatinous cube are played big damage can be done. It does require you to build your team around the cards in order to try to protect them and make them less vulnerable to reduce te risk of premature death. But i think they are very strong cards in certain situations and are definetly being overlooked right now!
What do you guys think? Any fun strategies you guys have thought of? I would love to know and try them myself!
