I grew up as a kid in Eagle, Idaho. It was a rural community of around 300 people a few miles west of Boise. As kids we grew a big garden and had lots of fruit trees – peaches, apricots, cherries, apples, and plumbs. I have fond memories of picking plumbs in those endless summer days. There were lots of wild plumb trees too, sometimes left over from an abandoned farm. More than once I was caught "stealing" someone's plumbs my mistake. But I was so young that they would let me go. They always let me keep the plumbs as well after their reprimand.

For this Sunday's color, what could be a better subject to draw than plumbs? This is another very simple vector drawing, with a minimum of modeling in the elements. I did add a touch of texture on the plumbs because they often have those discolored blemishes on them. See my keylines for the actual drawn elements, then the final art with my color palette. I used Adobe Kuler for the colors, searched for purple, and imported a couple color groups to work with. Since most colors are not exactly what you want, I took a few of them and did a blend between two colors to get the tonal variations to use as needed. This is really based on one green and one purple, then with the variations of them.
More recently I've learned about purple being connected with the third eye, the chakra associated with the pineal gland. I wonder if plumbs influence the third eye? That would be something!
