Happy Friday to you all. I checking out this Johnson Matthey round. The Freedom of the Press round. It is .999FS and 1ozt.
It was made in the early 1980’s (the decade of big hair, Valley Girls and cassette tapes). It is one of the ten in the Freedom Series. It did come in a protective package that was sealed plastic but it didn’t stay sealed and there was a small rip in the seal. We even had it in a flip but that didn’t help. It has begun to tone on the edge and sides of the round.
The obverse is a man writing on a document. In the background there appears to be a town Cryer on a cobblestone street.
The reverse has the Johnson Matthey name and logo along with the weight and purity.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a wonderful Memorial weekend!!
