10 facts you probably did not know about guitars

Guitar is a stringed instrument consisting of a resonance box with flat or slightly rounded bottom and a long neck fitted with a grip board. Various guitars are eg electric guitar and classic guitar. But this you already knew clearly, so here are 10 facts about guitars that you may not already have!

1 / The modern guitar is derived from Spain ...
The word guitar comes from the Spanish guitar that came from Andalusian Arabic, قيثارة, which in turn received the word from the Greek Greek κιθάραdär word but rather means stringed instruments. The modern guitar probably originates in Spain, where it has been used since the 13th century. At least two instruments called "guitars" were used in Spain around 1200: Guitarra Latina (Latin Guitar) and Guitarra Moresca (Guitar). Guitarra Moresca had rounded back, wide grip board and several sound holes. Guitarra Latina had a sound hole and a narrower neck.

2 / Guitar preserved from the late 16th century.
A Spanish guitar from 1581 is preserved (a copy of the guitar is below). During the 16th century, the oldest preserved compositions for the instrument were written. The five-string Renaissance guitar and baroque guitar enjoyed popularity, especially in Italy and France, from the 1400s to the 1700s.

3 / Electric guitar saw the light of the day already in the 1930s ...
The first electric guitar was manufactured in 1930 and was made of metal. The first electric guitar mass-produced in wood was made only 19 years later; 1950. Today, however, they are made of plastic or wood. What seems ironic is that the creator of the electric guitar could not even play the guitar.

4 / Animal arms like strings ...
The strings of a guitar were originally made of animal arms. But thanks to the technology's advance, they are manufactured by nylon instead (thank you, good dear for that!).

5 / Rare guitar with odd number of strings ...
Most guitars have four, six or twelve strings. However, there are some rare guitar instruments with seven, eight, nine or ten strings.

6 / Second most common instrument ...
Perhaps not entirely unexpected, the guitar is the second most popular instrument played today. The stopping point knocks the piano.

7 / The world's largest electric guitar ...
The largest functional electric guitar in the world (see figure below) is 13.26 meters long and weighs over one ton; 1 023 kilos to be more accurate. It was built in 2001.
8/90 000 guitar strings - per day ...
"The Fender Factory" - one of the world's most popular guitar manufacturers - manufactures over 90,000 guitar strings per day. Should you put all in a row, it is enough to reach a lap around the moon.

9 / The idea for the guitar was never any news ...
The idea of the guitar was nothing new directly - harps have been found depicted in Greek art from around 3000 BC, in Egyptian art from about 4000 BC. as well as several Scandinavian rhinestones (Sigurdskristninger) and woodcut from the 1000s and 1100s that illustrate Viking sagas about Gunnar Gjukason.

10 / Lutan competed out ...
The guitar had a breakthrough in several countries, and competed in the lutan, after it was launched with six single strings in 1790, and with today's stern screws of star wheel principle in 1810. The measurements of the modern classical guitar (also known as Spanish guitar) were set by Antonio Torres Jurado (1817 -1892), which appeared in Seville, Italy, in the 1850s.
