When I first read about the Sun-Tron-Steemit news I thought ‘Oh no! Here we go. Cue hundreds of steem posts - My thoughts on Tronit’. Every.time.there’s.new.about Steem we get this. Only this week I’m also seeing softforks, cross-posting, communities. So much noise! No wonder steem has an adoption problem. I’ve been on here for over year and can’t keep up. Imagine now you’re newbie coming onboard at this time. Confusing much!

Anyways, I’ve learnt a few things recently which I wanted to share here:

  • I’ve had a few whale upvotes lately - my Tasmanian series on travelfeed and a post I made on steemleo about micro-investing got a bit of traction. It seems that posting direct to dApps/tribes is the way to go to earn better rewards. You do hear about these things and think ‘That’s nice’ but until you actually try it and see for yourself you don’t appreciate the difference it can make. It makes sense too - dApp/tribe audiences are already interested in that niche but general UIs such as steemit audiences are generally more disparate.
  • I post less regularly on actifit@actifit nowadays mostly because my life isn’t that exciting and most days I don’t have anything interesting to say. I am however consistently getting the $1-ish upvote a week for exchanging 20 AFIT tokens for the steem upvote. I went through a phase last year when I posted almost every day but after getting to the 10,000 AFIT milestone and realising that the only real benefit was the once a week upvote (I had anticipated it would be more regular) I’ve cut back significantly.

Today I got to the 10K+ steps mark just through daily activity. I walk to Central station every morning which is a little further than Town Hall, mainly because Town Hall station is very stuffy and gross. This adjustment maybe adds about 500 steps to my daily. Yay!

Thanks for reading.
