When we grow up we started to lose connection with our older self. We build a new us with a new personality. It's not actually very uncommon to disconnect with our older self after a certain age. And by disconnecting I'm meaning not accepting who we were. Did you ever give it a thought what could be the possible impact on our present life for this?
Maybe there are thousands of mistakes you have done, maybe you have so many regrets about your decision and choice that's why you want to forget your old self. Remember, your 'old you' made this 'new you'. It struggled, enjoyed and survived. Also, remember how tough you really were during a hard time and collect your potential from it. Our old self builds us as a person who we are today.
Recall your old memories and think about how you used to respond to and act, what made you this 'new you' today, how you became what you are today. That journey, that nostalgia will automatically connect with your older self.
You made a mistake, accept it; you were crazy, accept it, or you were cool, accept that too. Accept the way you were, there's nothing to feel ashamed of because that older version of yourself made what you are now, what you are proud about in present.
Life is a wonderful journey. What we are experiencing daily will turn in to old. So, there's no way to deny anything. If we choose to disconnect with our older version, we will gradually disconnect with our life experiences and memories.
But think, those experiences and memories are the treasure for the rest of our life. So, never forget to track your treasure!
