Tijs Verwest Michiel (January 17, 1969) DJ.
He was born in Breda, the Netherlands. He better known in the artistic world as DJ Ti毛sto.
His interest in music arose at the age of eight. Later on, he decided to spend more time on it and started playing at school parties. Starting in 1985 he was hired as a DJ for various nightclubs. At The Spock, a small club in Breda, he managed to fine-tune his own style. Early in his career he was influenced by dance and gabber.
In 1994 he began working with the Chemo and Coolman record labels, sub-labels of Noculan Records. He was contacted by the CEO of Basic Beat Recordings, and signed with them, they released the popular series 芦Forbbiden Paradise禄.
For 1997, Arny and Ti毛sto left Basic Beat and created their own label: Black Hole Recordings with which Ti毛sto launched the 芦Magik禄 Series. Through Black Hole, Ti毛sto launched the Magik series. Two years later, he created the trance duo Gouryella with Ferry Corsten. That same year, he played for twelve hours at the Innercity RAI, located in Amsterdam. After the success he had in Innercity, he played the concert called Trance Energy 2000.
At the end of 2000, Ti毛sto decided to concentrate on his personal work and left the duo a bit relegated. Ti毛sto decided to create a sub-label, known as Magik Muzik. The label became a brand that represents the high quality of electronic music thanks to the release of Ti毛sto's classic dance anthem, Flight 643 (2001).
Ti毛sto's fame began to rise with the release of In My Memory, his first solo album; it contained 10 singles and 5 greatest hits. The last singles to be released were In My Memory. On February 2, 2002, Ti毛sto played nine consecutive hours with DJ Atraxion at the second edition of the Dutch Dimension festival. Thanks to his work, he received the Zilveren Harp musical award. He also received a Lucky Strike Dance Award in the category of Best DJ Trance.
