Hi everyone. Welcome here to my short piece. Being prepared is always the best way to avoid trouble, avoid failures, and have peace of mind. Just like in a battle, to win, we need to prepare ourselves with hard training. During the examination, we need to study harder to pass. And wherever we go, we need to prepare things we think necessary to avoid discomfort and troubles, and that's what we called as "everyday carry".
My Everyday Carry
Yesterday, I planned to have a trip with my family, since we are already invited to attend the graduation of my niece who is a class valedictorian in their school. So I need to prepare the things I think are necessary and all those things that are always with me. Before preparing myself such as taking a bath, or preparing the clothes to wear, I am preparing first my everyday carry and my things so as not to forget a thing necessary, especially during an unexpected situation that will happen. We know that a bad situation is like a thief, it will come unexpectedly.
My Bag
I have a few bags kept but every bag has its designated use. Whenever I go to work, I use a backpack, whenever I have a short-distance travel, I use a belt bag, and whenever I have a distance travel, I use my sling bag.
My sling bag has many compartments in which I designate different items to be put in.
Screwdriver
Wherever I go, I always bring this tool with me, a screwdriver has a lot of use. Others may think that it is only used for screwing and unscrewing bolts, but it is multipurpose for me馃槀馃槀, I use it as my defensive tool ( no intention to hurt people and animals), that's why I separated it from my motorcycle compartment where my tools are placed. Many people would try to ask why I use this as my everyday carry since there were so many defensive tools available such as guns, knives, and blades, but for me, the screwdriver is the safest tool I have. It can't scare away people, can't trigger offensive people, and can't be illegal to bring馃槀馃槀馃槀. I don't have a license to carry a gun and a knife can trigger offensive people if seen. I always bring this screwdriver with me in my bag and whenever I passed by a police checkpoint, there is no problem, or question of why. So, you already have a tip from me on what to carry as a defensive tool. It can be used as a defense tool aside from running away馃ぃ馃槀. Running away is the best defense if you have the chance.
Power bank
I always carry a power bank wherever I go. I bought this power bank last 2019 when I travel to Manila for a vacation. I always bring this power bank to make sure that my devices such as my cellphone and a blue tooth speaker are always live, especially when we are pro gadgets.
My power bank can fully charge my phone up to 5 times. Good to know that my power bank is a durable one.
Charger
I always bring this charger for my phone at all times since I always bring my power bank wherever I go at a distance. The cord of my charger has multiple uses, it can also be used in my blue tooth speaker.
Ball Pens
I always bring a pen with me. I used to bring this pen because this is the life of a teacher馃槀馃槀. Very useful for signing loan contracts馃槀馃槀, signing forms, writing anything to buy or bills to pay, and writing the amount paid in stores for auditing 馃槀馃槀. That's how teachers manage finances馃槀馃槀.
Headset
I always bring my phone headset with me. It is important for me as a driver. It is used when someone is calling or you are talking to someone on your phone while you are in a hurry driving towards your destination. But if you are not in a hurry, please stop your vehicle on the safe side of the road while talking to someone on your phone to avoid accidents. As they said, " Prevention is better than cure".
My wallet
I always bring my wallet with me even money abandoned it a long time ago馃槀馃槀. My wallet has my identification cards, atm cards, licenses, and my motor vehicle registration. It looks bulky but it has no money馃槀馃槀馃槀. How I wish Mr. Money will pay a visit or stay forever inside it馃槀馃槀.
Raincoat
I always bring my raincoat with me especially when I traveled far. I don't have four wheels so a raincoat is very necessary. We cannot predict the atmospheric condition, so better prepare anytime. I am a long-time motorcycle rider, so I already experienced riding a motorcycle under heavy rain without a raincoat, and it only get me sick a few days later.
Perfume and Alcohol
I always bring this perfume and alcohol anytime. I started to bring alcohol during a pandemic and I was already used to it. It has become my habit to wash my hand with alcohol every after I handle foreign things or when I was in a crowd. I also bring perfume especially when having an adventure, to avoid stinky smell.
What I do before leaving the house
Checking Outlets
Okay, for us to avoid any problems during our leave from home especially when there is no person left at home, we must check everything prior we leave our house.
First, we need to check our outlets to unplug appliances or devices except for the refrigerator or freezer to avoid fire. Devices such as phones, electric fans, television, and electric iron can cause fire due to overheating.
Checking Windows and Doors
It is also very important to check if your windows and doors are properly locked before leaving the house. Always remember that thieves will always find an opportunity to take over unexpectedly, so better secure everything before leaving.
What I do before a Ride
Check the Tires
It is very important to check the tires of our vehicles before riding because we live only once and we cannot replay every event that happens, as safety must be our top priority.
Check the brakes
It is also very important to check the brakes of our vehicles. Brakes hold the life of the passenger. It is one of the most important parts of your vehicle. It cannot be automatically detected by the vehicle system, so we need to check it manually.
After checking it and you might not see any wrong or if it is functioning, then everything is alright. Before we start the engine and rev it, Pray to God for Safe and Sound Travel.
