Lillian Ablon & Andy Bogart wrote a very insightful report about The Life and Times of Zero-Day Vulnerabilities and Their Exploits. What I find interesting from their research is: "Once an exploitable vulnerability has been found, time to develop a fully functioning exploit is relatively fast, with a median time of 22 days." That's less than a month's work for hackers to earn as much as $250,000.
Things, however, don't look so good if you're just a cyber security professional working in a company that's hit by "Zero Day". Be prepared to spend thousand nights trying to figure out what went wrong and how to remedy the "shit storm" while drawing a pathetic salary. If you can't deliver and your company lose millions in damage, that's probably when shit really hits the fan.
So how can you make your life easier and happier?
- Join the dark side. Be the hacker who earn quick bucks by selling exploits in dark web.
- Join Uncloak. Be the ethical hacker who earn UCC tokens by hunting down "Zero Day". If you're lucky, you can randomly be picked by the system to check the validity of the vulnerability and earn UCC tokens as well.
