It鈥檚 kinda like holding you hand by the speak on your phone then it gets louder.

This is a retro style electronic-less phone speaker amplifier. It鈥檚 crafted from four one inch thick boards of Black Walnut. All the inward steps are hand carved with a chisel. The outer most step has an angel of 5 degrees and each one as it moves in decreases by a single degree to give a very gradual visual straightening of the shape. After all the boards were glued up I then cut the outer shape. I used a Japanese pull saw to precisely cut the correct angels. Next I wrapped the whole box in eighth inch thick walnut stock to give a visually appealing appearance of the Walnut grain. Lastly I hand carved four small legs that attached to the bottom. The phone opening is cut to fit an iPhone 7. The box doubles the volume of the stock phone speaker.
