The phone rings
"Yes, sir, we're, kind of, running out of supplies."
"That is a concern. What do you mean, kind of?"
"We never had supplies to begin with?"
"What have you been using?"
If I was to continue this story, in the same vain, and reveal what is really going on, I might be accused of being too political. The story may, in fact, be more real than anything I've ever written.
But, I have to continue. Just for a bit.
"Bin bags. We've been using bin bags "
However, none of this really matters, because the people who are working with the bin bags get a big round of applause from the whole country, every week.
"Yes, we've been using bin bags to protect our staff. Is there any chance that we'll be getting proper protective equipment, in the near future?"
"We're working as hard as we can to provide some protective equipment."
It is nice that someone is working hard. However, that doesn't answer the question.
"That doesn't answer my question."
The doctor continues.....
"Is there any on the way? As in, like, the next few days?"
"We're working as hard as we can to provide some protective equipment for you."
I think we're going to take that as a no. I think some nurses and doctors around the country do have some. But, in a daily government briefing, we've been told not to waste it and treat it like a precious commodity.
The blood boils a bit. Is there any leadership?
