This is a little Daihatsu Scat 4WD that has been sitting in the shed for the last few years doing absolutely nothing. It was originally purchased from a bloke up the road who just used it as a "paddock basher", after running it into the ground he didn't fix it up (for whatever reason) so we bought it, did the few repairs that needed to be done and set a 1 tonne palletised water container on the back of it which we intended to use as our fire truck in the event of a bush fire on or around our property. We never used it for this purpose (as you can see the load would have been top heavy and one wrong turn on a wrong angle would've led us to roll quicker than a ball downhill!) so it has been sitting in the shed gathering dirt, dust and a healthy population of spiders.
My partner decided I needed some transport to get around the property without having to carry my tools etc by hand (we have 11 acres with 100m of elevation between the lowest and highest point of the land) and given my extreme dislike for spiders and any othercreepy crawly types, he thoughtfully emptied a can of insect spray all over it, inside and out (not something we do regularly here, we do our best to work with the environment, not against it) then drove it out onto the lawn and hooked up the high pressure cleaner so I could clean it to my heart's content.
It was a big job but I was very thankful the de-spidering had been done for me already, and it was actually pretty fun using the high-pressure hose 馃槉
So now this cute little Scat is mine to drive around the property, my toolbox on the back, phone and drink in the front and away I go able to work independently where ever I choose around our property.
