Good morning friends of this Hive platform, I would like to talk to you about the influence of my maternal grandmother, in the family.

Elena Castro that was her name, the matriarch, a woman of noble feelings, with many desires of service and collaboration, she taught us what family union meant.

I remember when I was a child we all lived in one house or at least it seemed that way, a daily coexistence where we were all happy, of course! I was a child and I could not see the worries of adults.

The house where we lived in Caracas, was built by my grandmother with her own hands, that's what my mother and my aunts told me, because when I was born the house was already built, and I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for her, to climb the materials from the avenue to the top of a hill, where you had to climb at least 500 stairs, without counting the improvised roads, and that's when I understand why the women of the family are so forward, because we inherited it from her.

As time went by, my grandmother moved to Guacara in Valencia, Carabobo State and it was there where we all started to emigrate, my grandmother was like a little hen and we were her chicks that followed her everywhere.

Little by little everyone was moving closer to grandma's house, in the end we my mother with her children, we also followed the little hen hehe. And again it seemed that we lived together, because there was not a weekend, birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day, Father's Day or even Children's Day, that was not celebrated, we did not need to invite anyone, because with us the bochinche was enough. Undoubtedly we enjoyed sharing as a family.

Until our pillar, the Matriarch of the family died, we felt that our world collapsed, we could not believe it, it was such a hard and insurmountable blow, that each one of the members of the family isolated themselves and put on a shield, to be able to resist and face that hard blow.

And with his death, came the disunity in the family, problems for nonsense, that made us distance ourselves for a while, to avoid friction between each other. In the end we realized that those acts were the product of that pain that we had not overcome, and we returned to rebuild our family, with the broken pieces but with the best intention and willingness to strengthen the bonds of union, respect and love that she had instilled in us.

I can not describe how much I miss my grandmother, I can only tell you that I miss her words and advice, her smile, her understanding, ELENA CASTRO has been an example of love and family unity, thanks to her we all give the best of us, when we have to help the needy, or in any difficulty.

She was the mother of 10 children, 8 females and two males, and she gave each one the corresponding importance in the family nucleus, but without a doubt, we women have been like our matriarch, fighters, warriors, collaborators and helpful, very maternal and protective.

Thank you grandmother Elena for your teachings, although I know you will not read this, but if you can see the feelings that I get thinking about you every day, you continue to be an example for me and I am happy to know that someday we will see each other again.

All the pictures belong to our family album, they can be found in the social networks of my relatives and my personal gallery, except for the second image which is from pixabay. Something to note is that at the time of my grandmother's youth, the cameras had low resolution, so they are not so sharp.
