Days ago I was reading several articles about martyrs.
I read one in Northern Nigeria, where a man was asked if he would deny Christ, but he refused and he had a meeting with several weapons, he was left to die, but miraculously he survived.
I read a story in Egypt where Christians were ambushed while traveling in a bus, and how the men were told to deny Christ and when they refused, they were all shot to death.
I heard another story of how a man and his wife with their 3 children were slaughtered during communism for refusing to deny Christ and how the family kept saying, "Christ has done us no wrong". Also when the soldiers and the crowd gathered at the fun square saw their persistence and heard of them talking about a grand reception for them in heaven, they all went on their knees in submission to Christ.
Go through the Bible and see how the apostles suffered for the cross and how many of them were brutally murdered for their Faith.
The Christian walk is not a walk of bread and butter, but a walk handed to us in love, a walk where the Word was made flesh and brutally murdered for our sake.
Curiously today, you won't be surprised to hear someone leave church and many times the faith and you ask them what the issue is and you hear...
- They don't know how to sing in that church and I am done.
- The Ushers did not smile when I walked into church.
- I don't like the Pastor and pastors in general.
- All Pastors are bent.
- A girl broke my heart.
- There is no AC in church.
- Someone who is a Christian owed me money.
- When I was in need no one called me.
- I went for a miracle and saw none.
- I expected to be rich and hammer.
- Nobody gave me connection.
- My political opponent attends church.
But wait a minute, what reason is enough for you to make Christ your enemy, what reason is enough to crucify Him the second time, what reason is enough to kick against the pricks like Saul.
Others may have hurt you.... But Jesus Christ has done you no wrong and like Pontius Pilato thousands of years ago, there is no wrong in him.
Your focus should be on Him and not on anyone, your faith should be anchored on Him not on anybody.
Don't allow the devil win, Jesus loves you so much and He waiting for you to come back,
He has done nothing wrong!!!
