This is amazing. A site that rewards users, by users, for contributing quality content and for participating in a meaningful way. It's a brilliant idea and when I heard about it, I was 100% all in. After spending some time swimming around amongst the whales, dolphins, and minnows, it is probably time to submit an introduction.
Hello.
You can call me Mort, or Mr. Mort if you are feeling saucy.
I live in the US in Ohio. I have lived in the Midwest for most of my life and don't regret it. There are good people here, people with big hearts and kind words who will look you in the eye and say hello, even if they have never seen you before. I like that small town feel. I have traveled around the States and overseas and have noticed that in places like NY and Chicago, the world moves much faster and people don't have the time to acknowledge each other. There are too many sounds and sights and smells and things to do. Don't get me wrong, I love a big city for a visit, but I'll take the smaller ones any day of the week.
We have a big lake that could be mistaken for an ocean if you didn't know any better, which is a nice from time to time, but I would be remiss if I didn't take the time for a journey to the real ocean as often as I can. That's a nice segue to my love for travel.
I have been blessed to see the sample of the world that I have seen; England, Italy, Denmark, Tenerife, the Caribbean, Mexico, Canada, around the US. There is so much in this world and if there were one thing that I would recommend to other Americans (and everyone who can do it) travel, travel, travel. It seems to be a common thing in my country for people to not leave. In doing so, it is too easy to develop a sense of isolation. Traveling shows people that there are other ways to do things and that other countries are, in fact, filled with people trying to make it through just like we are.
What else?
I am a college graduate. I play in a band. I like to write.
Now, I just need to figure out what to write about. My interests are varied, so this blog may be a mish-mash of material. I am excited to write about whatever pops in my head. The motivation of reward (Pavlov much?) is going to push me to write more and hopefully provide some decent content.
Whatever happens, I am excited to see what this Steemit community is all about.
