Planning a double-trip with friends is always adventurous, but this time the holiday was to be a joint getaway with my girlfriend, one of her colleagues, and her husband. Our dog, Alphy, was also going to join us for the ride since he was a member of our family and participated in all our trips.
But with the Iranian government’s hostile attitude toward dogs, the road trip could not be a pure fun activity without a variety of stressful moments. As we stopped for a break during the first day of the journey to let out Alphy and take a walk ourselves, the police stopped us.
Fortunately, we convinced the officers that everything was fine, and they left.
The incident affected us as it was only the beginning of our trip.
