Delicious Choco Quesillo Cake
Hello, friends who read my posts in this @hivefood community. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, enjoying Father’s Day in a wholesome way with your families. May God watch over you all. Welcome to my blog.
Today, once again, I’m here to share a recipe for a delicious quesillo cake with all of you. It’s a delicious recipe—super tasty—that everyone will love, both kids and adults alike.
It’s a dessert that takes some time to make, but it’s worth taking your time with it because it turns out so delicious—and, most importantly, it’s perfect for any kind of event or gathering; it’s always a hit. I made it for my husband’s birthday—he loves chocolate quesillo; it’s one of his favorite desserts. I’ll tell you, it turned out just right, with a very smooth and fluffy texture, and the caramel had a beautiful, soft golden color. As you can see in the photo, the flavor was absolutely delicious.
Now I’ll walk you through the ingredients and step-by-step instructions for making this delicious dessert.
Ingredients
CARAMEL
- 160 grams of sugar or 8 tablespoons
QUESILLO
- 1 375-gram can of condensed milk
- 1 375-gram can of whole milk
- 4 eggs
CHOCOLATE CAKE
- 220 grams of self-rising flour
- 175 grams of sugar or 1 cup of sugar
- 60 grams of cocoa powder or 5 tablespoons
- 3 large eggs
- 70 grams of margarine or 3 heaping tablespoons
- 125 milliliters of milk or 1/2 cup
- 1 tablespoon of baking soda
- 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- a pinch of salt
Instructions
The first thing I did was make the caramel. I placed the sugar in the pan where I’ll be making the chocolate quesillo, set it on the stove over medium heat for 4 to 5 minutes, and once the sugar had melted, I swirled it around the sides so that the caramel coated the entire pan. I set it aside.
Then I start making the quesillo as follows:
I find a blender, add all the ingredients, blend on high speed for 5 minutes, and set it aside
Next, I prepare the cake batter. First, sift the flour and cocoa powder. In a bowl, I add the whole eggs, beat them, add the sugar, and continue beating with a hand whisk. I add the melted margarine—or, if it’s soft, I add it as is (which was my case, so I didn’t need to melt it)—beat, add the baking soda and a pinch of salt, I keep beating, gradually add the milk along with the sifted flour, and finally add the cocoa and keep beating until all the ingredients are well combined.
Then I look for the 20-centimeter pan—the one I used—and first pour in the cake batter. Next, using a spoon, I spread the whipped cream mixture for the quesillo on top of the batter. I put it in the oven and bake it at 170 degrees for one hour. During this time, the cake batter will rise and the quesillo will sink—in other words, they’ll invert. In my case, since I was in a hurry because of the power outage, I set the oven to 180 degrees, and it burned a little, but I was able to remove it with a knife, and it still turned out super delicious.
