C'EST LA VIE! ADELANTE!
How did we cope? It's been a month after the Super Typhoon Odette hit Cebu. This week, I went out and saw the damaged houses were restored back. The electricty and water supply are both back now. It feels great. WE RISE UP AGAIN indeed #BANGONCEBU.
exactly a month ago and this is BAI Hotel now
My husband and I celebrating our 1 month as a husband and wife with the same hotel where we had our wedding reception
I was a victim and our house was badly damaged, as well as my milktea shop, yet I remain <b<positive (not covid) in life. I have to move forward and accept things that are beyond my control. I remind myself that a typhoon is a natural disaster and you cannot control it, it really happens. After a month, finally, everything is going back to what it is. It's like the hotel that we were staying at, they seem fine and okay now and back to business. However due to covid scare Omicron Variant they limit the restaurants again. Cafe Bai is closed Monday until Thursday and open on Friday through Sunday. I went there and had lunch with my husband. After a month they are slowly back to normal operation. I also saw the street lamp post that was back to its position.
The food vendors are now back for their daily living. I bought some Iced Caramel Machiatto on the street from a pop-up store called The Coffee Mobile as I support local. Afterwards we bought bread in Mrs. Goodies. I also checked the roads in Panagdait, Mabolo that was badly destroyed by Typhoon Odette and even asked the pump attendant in the gasoline station why they are still using generator set and she replied that the electric post on their side wasn't fix yet. They are one of the areas in Cebu that was really damaged by the super typhoon.
It has been a month and I can say that I am slowly adapting the new challenge in life like I have to sleep early as early as 8 in the evening. I am hoping that in the next few months we will improve and I hope that the business establishments will grow and foster. In these trying times we should not lose hope, strenghten our faith in GOD and always keep praying. There is always a reason why it happened, that's what I remind myself with. Let us all be grateful that we are all alive and healthy.
Stay safe Hivers and have a happy and healthy 2022.
