We have all seen definitions of being successful in different ways. I can't say some definitions are wrong; I just believe we all have ways in which we define success.
Before now, I used to complain about not having enough money. I mean, money has been successful. I can literally do any work just to be rich; doing any work means doing it in legit ways. But yet, I still complain. I do not have much, and the funniest part is that I'm not in the same position. I'm moving forward every time I complain.
Lastly, my best friend got married, and I was showing my elder sister that my friend who happens to stay in our house is getting married. How come I am in one place and not moving forward?
So she sat me down and asked me some questions, like, You have handwriting skills, which happen to be a skill that gives you money. I said yes.
She moves forward by asking me, How many certificates do I have? I said I had two certificates as a graduate.
She asked, So you have a legit source of income and are better than so many people? I said yes.
She continues to ask some personal questions that I provide answers to.
Then she asked me, What other success do I want apart from that? Is it money? Or been successful in everything you are doing in life. I've been successful in everything I'm doing in life. Then she said to count your blessings and stop complaining because someone else doesn't have what you have.
Here is my point: being successful sometimes isn't about having money, because that's my motive. After she finished talking to me, I realized I've been more successful in life than what I'm even thinking about.
Every little thing matters in life; it's better to count each blessing that was given to you and don't look at someone else's success.
There is what we call a time frame for everything we are doing in life, which means everyone has their own time in this life. If you start a school and you graduate with results, no matter how poor the results might be, as soon as you graduate, you are successful.
If you learn a skill and are able to finish the work you are learning, and if you become a boss on your own or with the particular skills you have, then you are successful.
If you get married or give birth to a child, then you are also successful in life; in fact, if you are able to train your child until adulthood, then you are also successful.
My point is that being successful in life should not be boiled down to a single definition. It should be everything going on in your life, no matter how small it is.
Meanwhile, do not get me wrong, money is also part of being successful in life; in fact, money brings happiness. My point is just that: let's not base our motives on money being the only thing for being successful in life because there are other things.
Welcome to my blog. Have a nice day.
