I have only been away from here for a week but it seems like it has been such a long time.

I'm happy to be back to share with you my latest creation.

A beautiful wedding Thanksgiving Dress I have sewn for my neighbors.
My neighbor had her wedding towards the end of last year and it was a graceful occasion. I equally bought the clothes means for the friends if the family but I didn't later make it to the wedding.

Yesterday happens to be the Thanksgiving in church in which the entire family the church and congratulations are thanking God for the establishment of a new home. It's a good habit to return all the glory to God for the success of any event and more so for the blessings of marriage so that the blessings of God can continue with the new couple.

I was already assigned with the task of sewing this colorful wear for the new bride to wear, it's always a pleasure to accept new challenge, especially sewing ones as we get to learn along the line add up experience and dress people up beautifully.

I started with cutting the lower part of the dress into a long floral 180° half flair here

Folding it diagonally I measured out her full length before cutting out the waist line here, next I went ahead to cut the lining in a similar fashion.

Next I stated working in the upper bodice as it is a shoulder buster. I took out the bodice measurements from the busy, underbust, shoulder and waist.

Next I drew out the dart lines and created a sweetheart neckline for the dress before moving on to cut the back bodice next.
Both the fabric and linings are cut alongside.

Stitching began and I took my time to stich every seamlines gradually

My manual machines is often very helpful for the times when there is usually no light

The sleeves were the next go be cut. A combination of a flair sleeve at the base of a straight sleeve, I had cut each separately and joined them together leaving a keyhole at the middle of the sleeve here

The sleeve were then fixed on the dress along side the zipper and our beautiful dress is ready.
My mannequin modeled it first before it's real owner. One thing about this mannequin is that, it is either a dress size gets too big for it or it gets too small to enter it.

The best thing about purchasing a mannequins model is to buy at least 3 different sizes, the small, medium and big sizes. Such that any outfit we make will likely fit into any of it.
