I bought this Canon 75 300mm f4 5 6 iii Telephoto Zoom Lens because I wanted to do some wildlife photography and capture some wildlife video.
It is a challenging lens but can give very good results when used with a tripod.
Would I recommend this lens? If you are on a tight budget and have some patience and a tripod you can get into the whole telephoto field of photography which includes wildlife, landscapes and astrophotography.
Especially wildlife video and photography as you can zoom right in to get close to the animals without disturbing their natural behaviour.
There is no image stabilisation on the lens so any movement even breathing makes the lens shaky.
This video took me a long time to make because I had to get my head around the how best to use this lens. It's been years since I used a zoom lens.
Handheld at 75mm it's good enough for photography. The handheld sweet spot for me was around 200mm with a fast shutter speed.
At 300mm it's difficult to get a sharp image due to the lack of stabilisation but once mounted on a tripod and by using a remote control to take the shot it works great.
This lens makes you work for good images which isn't a bad thing. It's cheap and does a good enough job.
