You may be wondering why I Powered Up another 31,000 Hive this week when many people seem to be doing the opposite.
The simple answer is that it took me over 8 years to get to dolphin rank just by posting and commenting on peoples posts.
In those years I managed to accumulate a few thousand HBD when hive was between a $1.00 to $0.30 per token.
At these current prices I have leapt from dolphin to Orca in two trades of HBD to hive. In fact I'd already hit Orca on my first trade about 10 days ago.
The second trade was a no brainer. I don't really want the chain to be in debt and that is what HBD represents.

Another thing that I noticed is that my curation rewards began increasing. See above.
No more HBD staking
I won't be staking any HBD until the debt burden drops. The chain has stopped issuing HBD for the time being anyway so why hold it when the peg is flailing around.
To a new person coming to Hive this may seem like an impossible thing to do but take a look at my blog.
There were years where I didn't earn a bean but it was never about money for me. It was about stability in a fast moving technological landscape and I've met some incredible people.
I think I got one whale vote in the entire time I've been here. I did get a lot of support eventually from some dolphins and orcas.

Below you can see my stats including my vote strength and my ke number.
If you have a ke number above 1 it means that you have withdrawn some of your stake or earnings. Some people get all bent out of shape if they find an account with a high ke.
Which is kinda weird considering that this chain was always marketed as a place to earn money?
Of course a high ke number can also expose the rampant extractors and it does but that's another blog for someone else to write. I try to avoid onchain drama.
There's an old saying.

The above means people are panic selling.
My saying is this.
"Buy when there is no one in the streets"
The above means people have lost all hope and are apathetic.
There is a lot of apathy around at the moment and Hive is on at fire sale prices..
