The steemit blogging website and company has been purchased by an individual in a hostile takeover and has become something completely different.
The sentiments and friendship expressed in the video above have been preserved on Hive.
I have redirected all off my content off of Steemit onto Hive.
It's a good idea to do this as it tells search engine web crawlers that Hive is the preferred place to find my content. Good for SEO.
If you want to know how to do a redirect let me know in the comments. It's very simple to do.
Fortunately the community got itself together and forked the blockchain to create a new chain Hive.
Hive has now superseded steem in a little over a year. This shows the power of communities added to the network effect.
Steemit was always centralised and we all knew it but it had potential for future decentralisation.
This is no longer the case and I would not advise anyone to join Steemit now.
The core development team and the vast majority of users have moved to a new blockchain (hive) that is in keeping with the original conception.
The Hive blockchain is decentralized and cannot be taken over by a major holder of the hive cryptocurrency.

Having gained 1000 subscribers on steem and the many other apps on the steem social media blockchain. Made me think. Is this the future of all social media?
With all the privacy issues that have come to light recently. We need to think very carefully where we put our content and why aren't we getting paid for the use of our data.
This is a quick shout out to a few of my friends on steemit.
Soon you will be able to monetize any blog using the steem blockchain with smart media tokens (SMT's) and will not have to rely on any other ad format to earn money.
PS the original monetization ideas for blogs & bloggers have been carried over to hive.
