First off let me say that this whole incident was a major trajedy, and my prayers are with the friends and family that have been affected by this cruel inhumane act. However, there were great moments of humanity to be found within the onslaught of chaos. This post is to not let their actions go unnoticed.

Carly Krygier laid on top of her daughter to shield the girl from bullets

Tom McIntosh said he wouldn’t be alive if not for the help of a stranger, who used a belt to create a makeshift tourniquet for his wounded leg. The “Today” show found that stranger, James Lawson, and reconnected the two for an on-camera reunion. “Thanks buddy,” Mr. McIntosh said as they hugged.

Sonny Melton died while protecting his wife, Heather Melton

Lindsay Lee was in the passenger seat of a truck, watching victims being carried on makeshift stretchers, when a man approached her window. “Right now, we need your truck,” he said. “We just need to get people over to the hospital, O.K.?”
“O.K., go ahead, put them all in the back,”

Steve Keys, a firefighter, was performing CPR on a woman when he was grazed by a bullet. He stayed to help people instead of getting medical attention.

Jonathan Smith estimated that he saved about 30 people, grabbing people and guiding them away from the scene, before he was shot in the neck. He was able to walk out of the hospital, but doctors left the bullet in. “I might have to live with this bullet for the rest of my life,”

Its acts of humanity such as these that bring us light in such a dark time
