These images are all from this video which Genshin Impact just released today. It's a preview of the next update (3.0) where we'll get a new world called "Sumeru."
This is getting lots of hype from the genshin community because we'll also be getting a new playable element, dendro. The genshin community have been waiting ages for this. Dendro is the "earthy" element. It represents life and the element of plants. This new region which will be released soon reflects this element perfectly. The colour pallet is aesthetically pleasing. With lots of greenery, blues, and even a desert area. This region is very beautiful.
Anyway, these are photos of some of my favourite previews from this video, as well as my thoughts which I wanted to share with you guys today. (At end of post)
The music and visuals in this video is outstanding as well. I recommend checking the video out! (Even if you don't play genshin yourself, I think most can agree that the graphics is really on another level!) Hope you enjoy the images!
Here are some of my thoughts, I'm super excited to see the desert area in Sumeru! Although all the greenery is beautiful, a desert is something different in Genshin Impact that we've never seen in the game. It looks like a completely different game with the desert. I just want to explore everything. I really like the idea of how they're adding both greenery and desert areas in Sumeru, variety is always nice. In my opinion this is the most visually interesting world compared to the ones which are released already. (Mondstatd, Liyue, Inazuma) They just keep getting better and better!
I love the world's vibe. It's super peaceful and calm. The forests look homely and the deserts look mysterious. I can already see myself spending hours enjoying the views and exploring the beautiful areas. They said that their goal was to find a balance between realism and fantasy when designing Sumeru, I think they did this perfectly. The areas look magical and vibrant however feels realistic at the same time. I'm excited to see Middle Eastern and South Asian cultures represented through this region.
I'm also excited for the new dendro element and the new playable dendro characters. I'm mostly interested in trying the new elemental reactions and making new team compositions. At the moment I'm thinking of pulling for the dendro archon, however I want to wait and see the other characters playstyles. I can't wait!
The open world and beautiful environment in Genshin is what made me fall in love with the game at first, and they didn't disappoint with this new region either. The fact that this game is free to play still blows my mind. The breathtaking environment is what makes the game stand out. The developers really outdid themselves with this upcoming update. They're super talented.
