For me, Christmas starts from the first day of December because everywhere will start bubbling right from the day. Places will be decorated, there will be lots of gingles here and there for parties, picnics and promos for end of the year sales.
The word 'Christmas' which is a combination of 'Christ' and 'Mass' means the holy mass of Christ, it's a day which brings joy naturally to not just the children but to all, it's a season filled with love and happiness.
When we were kid, we look forward to the day because of having the privilege to attend children picnics, where we do have fun and we also know there will be lot of goodies to eat and also to take home. I also anticipate the Christmas cloth but what I don't like is putting on same type of outfit with my siblings, I detest it alot till now but I didn't have the boldness to tell my parents not untill I got to secondary school.
What I Love About Christmas
As I grew up, I've learnt and still learning about this special day call Christmas. Although, 25th December isn't the actual day Christ was born, it's a day changed from pagan's day of sacrifice to Christ's birth commemoration. This reason is one of the fact that I love celebrating this day because it was use to differentiate Christians from pagans and also to stop Christians from veering from their faith.
Also, Christmas is a time to show love to friends and families by sharing gifts and also giving the necessary basic needs to the poor and less privileges. There are lots of outreaches during this season to show love to one another and according to the Holy Bible love is the greatest commandment. So if you claim to love God then you need to love your neighbors as yourself.
Also, Christmas is a season for bonding with my extended family. People travel from far and near during the Christmas season, I get to see many of my extended family members that I've seen for long.
But this season I'm not planning to travel because of the current hike in transportation fare cause by the increase in petrol in my Country, so I plan to enjoy my holiday with my immediate family.
Finally, I can not forget to talk about the merriment part of Christmas. There is always too much to eat and drink during Christmas. I can say Christmas food, stew or soup always taste special I don't know why. Maybe it's because of the joy that comes with the season or maybe the ingredients bought during festive period were made specially from the producers š¤£ I can't say, it just do taste differently.
We also love making snacks during this season in my house. Like cake, puff puff, doughnut and most especially chinchin which is my favorite. We always have snacks in excess at home because of anyone that might pay us a visit. So looking forward to see you all in my house during this season to have your share in the snacks that I will makeš¤£
In conclusion, let us try as much as possible to preach Christ through our lifestyles, put smile on the less privileges faces. And also be a good ambassador of Christ's teachings. LET LOVE LEAD.
