The Lion went once a-chasing alongside the Fox, the Jackal,

what's more, the Wolf. They chased and they chased till finally they

amazed a Stag, and soon ended its life. At that point came the inquiry

how the ruin ought to be separated. "Quarter me this Stag," thundered

the Lion; so alternate creatures cleaned it and cut it into four

parts. At that point the Lion stood firm before the remains and

articulated judgment: The main quarter is for me in my ability

as King of Beasts; the second is mine as referee; another offer

comes to me as far as concerns me in the pursuit; and with respect to the fourth

quarter, well, with respect to that, I should jump at the chance to see which of you will

set out to lay a paw upon it."

"Humph," protested the Fox as he left with his tail

between his legs; however he talked in a low snarl

."You may share the works of the colossal,

in any case, you won't share the ruin.
