Greetings weekend experience community. I'm happy to share how I'll be celebrating New Year's Eve this Sunday night as we transition from 2023 into 2024.
As 2023 draws to a close, I'm preparing for my church's lively New Year's Eve crossover service to usher in 2024. Joining fellow church members on this last night of the year has become a treasured tradition. The vibrant praise, communal hope and spiritual renewal resonate deeply as we reflect on the year gone by while anticipating brighter days ahead.

The service usually starts in joyful revelry with our choir leading praise songs as colorful confetti cannons burst overhead. Voices and drums beat loudly glorifying God's blessings over the past twelve months. Looking around at beaming smiling faces reminding me I do not walk alone in this world is a gift sustaining me through life's trials.

The songs will swell with gratitude for protection, provisions, revelations and growth experienced individually and as a community this past year. Lifting voices in unison stirs a collective energy more potent than singing alone at home could ever be. The visible exhilaration of young kids dancing and whistling, elderly folks with eyes closed in reverence, couples standing hand in hand, this shared tapestry of worship bonds our human stories.
As the music softens, our pastor will delivers a sermon inspiring us to embrace new beginnings. He will urges us to reflect on 2023 not with regret but with lessons excavated that will propel our lives forward. I will feel stirred releasing bitterness and pain to the past, opening my heart anew to receive coming blessings. Eyes glisten with tears around the room knowing we have endured together.

Near midnight, we will break into fervent communal prayer. Bringing our private hopes before God, we will feel surrounded by care and possibility. In this instant, the brokenness within and beyond these walls feels penetrated by relentless love. As we count down the final seconds to midnight, joyful shouts erupt in celebration of promises yet unseen but deeply sensed.
As we will flow into the new year 2024 together, my spirit will feel uplifted witnessing faith and human courage alive. I will exit the church doors with a lightness hoping to carry God's love ignited tonight into everyday moments. With the new chapter unwritten stretches ahead with hope measured not in years but in insignificant days transformed by hands open to give and receive divine grace. Happy New Year.
