Yeah, I think the issue with nostalgia is it's kind of irrelevant whether a place is perfect or horrid. Growing up with it, memory fading and rose-tinting everything, it's gonna feel desirable no matter what. (Something I have to be aware of having married somebody from another country who will inevitably feel the same way albeit in totally different ways).
