There's definitely something about that Vangelis sound, something I also grew up with separately as actual tape/cd albums.
I never felt like the O.G. bladerunner was complicated which is probably one of the reasons it was so powerful, even to children. It's one of the main things making the sequel not as classic, since it was a bit of a drudge through muddy vision. But, the aesthetics were faithful and that just pulls at my heart strings whether I like it or not!
Philosophically, bladerunner has several parallels with the Japanese Ghost in the Shell, which is packed to the brim with difficult ideas in a dystopian future. Some people know how to do Sci-fi. Others do not __
