Bladerunner is maybe my favourite movie of all time. I remember watching it when I was a kid, which probably wasn't great as it's pretty intense, but it had a huge impact on me. Even back then, with the deep philosophical themes, it made me think. Pretty impressive achievement if you ask me, to make something so powerful that it even makes a little kid think about the nature of life, reality, humanity, death. Rutger Hauer actually rewrote the famous monologue at the end, adding the most powerful line himself "all those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain..." Just thinking about that scene makes me tear up a little. The scene and the monologue is beautiful and powerful and thought provoking, but it would only be half, maybe less, of what it is without the beautiful and delicate and mesmerizing score by Vangelis. The music is what takes it from powerful to absolutely epic.
