This is one of the intriguing small statues that I came across in my trip. According to wiki these women are Chinese immigrants who came to Singapore between 1920s to 1940s until China stopped emigration.

Mostly of Cantonese origin and some Hakka, they were instrumental in contributing to the development of the country.

As a mark of respect and remembrance they have built this statue as these women were known to work in construction projects and general labour work which helped build the nation.

They have clearly done remarkable work in helping Singapore become what it is today.

This is a good moment to remember the hard work of the women in our lives who have helped us get where we are today. Cheers.
