These berries were at various stages of drying out, the bright reds that they had in full bloom now turning darker. The juices dry out and the skin starts to wrinkle as they wither. Eventually in the last shot, it becomes black and looks like something you might find in the dark forests and swamps leading into Mordor. The textures stood out to me, I wanted to see if I could get more out of them and once the color is removed art imitates life and the textures become rougher and more noitcable just like the final dried out black berries.
