It was a treat to find this little woodpecker right at the beginning of my photo walk. It had flown to a nearby tree and began to immediately peck away at it. First, the bird was already out of sight, but it wasn't long before it moved around the tree and into a better spot for me to zoom in.
The bird moved pretty quickly, moving around the tree and up to some branches. It seemed to peck at anything it could so I am unsure what the end goal was. Little bits of bark would fall away, and then the downy woodpecker would find another spot.
