Double-crested cormorant in flight

I was only able to see this bird once as it flew by. I know it is one that I have seen pictures of; I don't recall ever seeing one in person. It is a water bird, similar looking to both a duck and a goose. The double-crested cormorant can be found all across North America. It is found near lakes, rivers, and coastal areas. Its feathers are not waterproof, so it must dry its wings out after spending time in the water. It primarily eats fish by hunting and diving for them. I hope if I spend some more time near the Glenmore reservoir, I will be able to see much more of this species.
