Canada geese love water; it doesn't even have to be a large body of water. Sometimes a small puddle will do; this goose seemed to be perfectly content here. It was starting to warm up, and while there was still snow on the ground, this was as good a place as any for the Canada Goose to go for a soak. It was an early autumn snowfall that sometimes hits Calgary before fading back into a bit warmer weather; the leaves were still on the ground, and because our weather here shifts so much, it's possible that this goose might stay all year round.
