Yesterday I was talking to one of the guys in our village who had been deported from Turkey for illegal entry into the country and heard some shocking stories from him. He told me that his main target was to reach Europe via Iran and Turkey but was intercepted by the Turkish Armed Forces on his way. He was sent to jail and then was deported from the country.

Let me tell you a very shocking fact I heard from him. He told me that they started traveling in a group of 100 people in a tightly packed container and more than 10 people died during the journey in the container. He also told another shocking story that he heard from another friend and that is the casualty rate is more than 50 percent when the immigrants reach Europe, illegally. I was so sad to hear this horrific figure and asked him why would someone travel on such a dangerous journey to reach Europe. The answer was very simple and that is “money”. In the third world countries, there is jobless, poverty, injustice and war-like situation which is forcing the poor to travel illegally to Europe and send money back to the country to make their families prosper.
I did not agree with his logic and asked him to work hard here instead or go to other countries legally to earn bread and better but he destroyed my logic by saying that he doesn’t have money to travel to another country. I still don’t agree with him but there are facts and figures which people belonging to the developed world must know. The first one is the way our rulers embezzle huge money and then transfer that money to Europe via backchannel. One example of this illegal transfer of money is the recent indictment of our Former prime Minster, Nawaz Sharif, a few days ago. He made billions and then transferred that money to the developed world through offshore companies to legalize black money.
Another important reason for this immigration is the current civil war like situation in most of the third world countries and the major hands involved in this war-like situation is the strategic and political battle between great powers. We must unite as humans and work for the prosperity of our fellow brethern.
