Honestly, I have been wondering what happened to the weather I used to know. When I was growing up, the weather seemed to have its own timetable, and it followed it accordingly. We knew when the rainy season was coming and when the dry season would begin. Even as children, we could almost predict what the weather would be like at certain times of the year.

But these days, I honestly don't understand the weather anymore.

It's November already, and we're still experiencing rainfall. I thought by now we would be enjoying more sunshine and gradually preparing for the dry season, but the rain doesn't seem ready to leave.

Sometimes, you wake up in the morning, see a bright sky and happily plan your day. Before you know it, dark clouds appear, and everywhere becomes cloudy. Other times, it rains when you least expect it.

Doing laundry has even become something that requires careful planning this days, and cannot even step outside without parking your clothes inside because of the fear that rain might beat them. These days I wash your clothes, spread them outside and keep looking at the sky because I don't know when the next rainfall will come.

I remember when we could tell the difference between the seasons without having to check any weather forecast. These days, it feels like the seasons are mixing themselves up, especially here in portharcourt. Or is it because it is called "River State".

I don't know if it's climate change or what, but something about the weather has certainly changed. The patterns we were familiar with while growing up don't seem as predictable anymore.

Maybe I'm not the only one who has noticed this.

I'm not sure I'm the only one that remember when we could almost tell what month it was just by observing the weather?

Because right now, I'm not sure whether to prepare for dry season or keep my umbrella close.
