Querida comunidad #motherhood,
@marybellrg
Dear #motherhood community,@marybellrg
@elizabeths14, friends and followers, I am with you again to bring a topic that you have surely come across in your day to day of raising an infant, even those of four legs, haha.
Motherhood brings with it a sixth sense that sharpens sensitivity and allows us to hear what others do not hear, see what others do not see and, in short, feel or sense what others cannot . It is that mothers develop observation intensely, having a child is the best exercise to develop the ability to observe. Fear is quite easy to detect, but its causes are not so easily perceived. Become a "detective" to gather clues and point them out
In my personal experience, the unknown inspires fear in children, who are frightened by the sea water that wets their feet, by the dog they hear barking, a bird flapping its feathers , etc. These fears will disappear with habit and their disappearance is fundamentally based on the attitude of adults and their own experience.
Although he already knew the sea (his father carried him to bathe him), my one-year-old son got very scared when the waves touched his feet and he tried to go back to escape from them . We held him firmly and maintained the position, while we talked with him showing positive emotions, we sat where the waves died, some did not reach us, others bathed us, soon part of the fear left, because he laughed when the waves wet him, but he was holding on to us.
None of my children showed fear of animals, because we always had some pet and because many toys are shaped like animals, at home there were dinosaurs, monkeys, spiders, lizards, etc. And the most beloved stuffed animal was a dinosaur, which still takes care of an armchair in my father's house.
But if I have an interesting anecdote, regarding animals and fear, well, the youngest of my children, began to put all the little animals making a kind of barrier at the entrance of the room and in the window, we didn't give it much importance because we saw it as a game. Although he was still old enough to get into bed, he was not used to doing it; but while the toys blocked the entrance, he was about to create an artificial lake.
We had to become detectives and, in different interrogations, the boy mentioned a man who was walking on the roof and looking out his window. It seemed to be a nightmare, but we kept an eye on him at the window. Until one day we saw a man on the roof of the laundry room. From that ceiling, he looked like he was peering into the boy's room. We get scared, first; we asked later, it was a neighbor who went up there to repair some leaks in his house. The frightened boy spoke softly. The man, the man. The solution was to demand that the neighbor not come up to our house, much less without permission. However, as far as we could, we built a boundary wall between both houses.
After the conversation with the neighbor, the protective barrier of the door disappeared, but it remained in the window for a long time, including spiders for Halloween decoration. We just accept it as our little boy's way of protecting himself from danger.
Dear mothers, fathers and those responsible for raising children, regardless of gender or age, it is necessary to always be alert, because childhood fears can be adult traumas,
