A new fork for Verge: privacy and security improved

At the block 1,824,150 the Verge blockchain will split into another chain that will add stealth transaction, improving both security and privacy.
After unsuccessfully trying to resolve some of the incomplete stealth transactions via soft fork, the team decided a hard fork would be necessary to reconcile all issues and get all of the mining pools on the same page.

Are my coins safe?

YES! Your coins are safe, though you have to update your wallet within 6 days. In case of paper wallet, you got nothing to do.

What about coins stored on Exchanges?

Although it is advisable not to store coins on exchanges, your coins will be safe! Still, nothing to do.

Will I receive new coins?

NO. This hard fork will not generate new coins, the old blockchain will be useless.
