Leslie is the oldest of 6 siblings, followed by Naomi, John, Sadie, Samantha and Andrew. Since she can remember, she has had to take care of them, she has been like a second mother, since Mrs. Adelaide has always worked and when she leaves she entrusts her with the housework.
She is used to doing everything for her siblings, and her siblings are used to her doing everything at home, they became adults and nobody took that role away from her, even on Sunday, when she wanted to get up a little later, Mrs. Adelaide wakes her up to make breakfast.
Leslie is always busy, she works from Monday to Friday, and on the weekends she cleans and tidies the house, prepares food, washes and irons everyone's clothes.
On Mondays, she arrives at the office more tired than she left on Friday, she rarely has time for her, and even though she is beautiful, with rude attitudes she repels any young man who approaches her.
She also spends her salary on things for her parents and siblings, although they all work, she feels the commitment to give them almost all of her salary.
It is that since she started working, since there were many expenses at home, her salary was almost essential, and everyone got used to the fact that her salary was for the family.
One day, upon arriving at the office, Leslie meets her new boss, they had fired the manager and left it to the new manager's discretion for further dismissals.
Mr. Ethan Smith had plans to hire a new assistant, until he met Leslie, he interviewed her to gauge her ability, and watched her carefully as she spoke, brunette skin, large amber eyes, very long eyelashes, high cheekbones, and full lips, he mentally enumerated her characteristics. What caught his attention the most is that her beauty was natural, she had little makeup and still she seemed extremely attractive.
Leslie realized that he wasn't paying much attention to her, and with her characteristic rough demeanor she asked, _Mr. Smith, are you listening to me?
He responded with a blunt: Yes!
She continued speaking, she did it in a way that showed security and at the same time serenity. And even though she sensed that she might be fired, she kept telling herself that everything would be fine, regardless of what happened.
Mr. Smith continued to look at her, and finally told her: We are in a transition stage, which implies a greater commitment to the company, so an extension of working hours will be necessary from Monday to Friday, and even the next few weekends. Have you problems with that?
She replied without hesitation: No!
Although she thought that it would alter her life as she knew it until now.
During that first month, she worked three weeks straight, including Sundays, and that fourth Sunday she finally had it free, so she intended to get up later, to her surprise her mother woke her up at 6 am to prepare breakfast.
Leslie felt as if they had thrown cold water on her, and at the same time she felt like a fire that was eating her stomach, the first thing she said was: It can't be!
And then she reproached Mrs. Adelaide: Why do I have to get up to make breakfast? The youngest of my brothers, (she said referring to Andrew), he is 20 years old, and I have been cooking since I was 12 years old, why can everyone else sleep late on a Sunday and you do not give me that privilege? I also work on Mondays to Friday, I have not had rest this month.
Tears were running down Leslie's cheeks, and Mrs. Adelaide had been struck dumb, she never imagined that reaction.
Leslie got up, but she told herself that she wasn't going to allow any more abuse from her family, she was exhausted, and not knowing a better place, she went to the office, she was going to take advantage of the time to get some things done. What was her surprise? Mr. Smith was also working.
He smiled at her as soon as he saw her enter, and still perplexed, he asks: _What are you doing here? She began to cry, she was very burdened, he, unable to resist, hugged her.
She told him how her morning had started, she told him as if he were a close friend, and it was after she had blown off steam that she realized he was her boss.
So, Mr. Smith told her that it was best to leave the office to clear her mind, he invited her to breakfast and then to walk in the park, Leslie agreed, for some reason he inspired confidence in her, something she had not felt before.
Actually, Mr. Smith was only a couple of years older than her, he told her part of his life, he had been widowed about 5 years ago, his wife died of breast cancer, it was sudden, his voice broke when he says: _We couldn't have children, we didn't have time.
Leslie watched as her eyes filled with tears, and she was moved by her story, that day she noticed that Ethan had green eyes, so light they seemed blue, and she never saw him the same again.
That day they got to know each other, they talked like two good friends, the conversation flowed between them, and finally Leslie came home, she didn't want to go back but no way.
When she arrived, everyone was in the room, and a welcome sign had been put up.
Mrs. Adelaide hugged her, apologized to her, agreed with her, and told her that everyone has to assume their role and responsibilities, and they gave her a big group hug to thank her for everything she has done for her family.
