I celebrate my children's birth day every month, my princess was born on March 25th, and since her birth every 25th of the month I make a little cake, the same thing I did with my 3 year old prince who was born on August 8th and since he was 6 months old we started celebrating every 8th of the month without fail.

October 25th coincided with Monday, so I postponed the celebration until Saturday the 30th; this is because my husband works out of town and comes home on weekends, I like us all to be there so that the "party" is complete.

Since my first son was born, my husband and I decided that I would stay home and take care of him. The truth is that the idea came from my mom, it was getting close to the date when I had to go back to the office and I felt inside me a little uneasy about taking care of my little boy, my mom works, so that was not an option; On the other hand, the department where I worked had undergone some changes and my job had been moved to the main office of the company located in the south of the city (my workplace was initially located in the north), that complicated things a little more because it meant that I had to cross the city, plus the Care Home I had considered and of which I had references from my friends no longer served me because of its location. All this coincided with the increase of the economic crisis in Venezuela, evaluating my salary it was not going to be enough to pay for the care of my prince, even with all my salary, so for all the above I dedicated myself to the complete care of my baby and quit my job the day of my reinstatement.

I can say that now I don't leave the house much, except for the weekends when we are almost always running errands, time goes by like water through our fingers, and I am not only referring to the weekend, I am referring to our life, to how our children are growing, and many times we don't realize it, that's why I celebrate every month of their lives, it's not really "the big party", it's not even a "party", it's a pause to remind us of the time that is passing, to compare their growth in the month compared to the previous month, to share a sweet and pleasant moment, to nurture our memories and not allow life to escape us without living it.

So this was a sweet and happy weekend, we ate cake, our little cake lasted until Monday, what can I say, we like to eat....

I see my children and my heart is filled with happiness, I see their tender look between them, it is a wonderfully magical moment. My son loves it because he blows out the candle, it makes him very excited. I thank God for all these moments.

On Monday our routine started again, my husband is leaving again, every time he leaves I feel a little sadness, I count the days for his return, since Monday I start wishing it will be Friday so he can be with us. My little son also feels his absence, sometimes he calls him through the window, in his innocence he will think that my husband is listening to him from there, his joy is immense when he sees his daddy coming... There are no words...

We continue dreaming of a better future for us, but above all for our children, that is why we strive, and on the way to our dreams we want to give them happy, sweet, wonderful moments... We want to teach them that to be happy it is not necessary to have many things, that they can discover with our actions the true value of what they have lived.

...And that every day is an opportunity to live and be happy.
