There are smells that take me back in time, I close my eyes and let myself go, they can even make me sentimental.
I remember that when I was a girl of about 12 years old, my mom left me 5 Bs for snack, I bought a chocolate cookie, called Samba, and a soft drink and maybe something else. That cookie still exists, but for some reason I lost preference for it. But when I perceive the delicious smell of it, it takes me back to those moments of my childhood, and I smile placidly. Nowadays, I enjoy its smell more than its taste, although I can eat one from time to time.
Before entering university, I was in a non-profit group of the Red Cross, the Relief Brigade, we lived very nice experiences: medical consultations in rural areas, days of taking blood pressure, support for some doctors close to us, even I was able to witness operations in the operating room: cesarean section, hysterectomies, among others. Of the latter, the smell of iodinated antiseptic, which I knew under the name of Betadine, is what takes me back to that time.
As I have commented in other posts, while I was in college, I made kisses from coconut to sell (like a coconut bread), and part of the process involves dissolving the "papelón" (sugar cane extract cooked at high temperatures) in hot water to which the following spices are added: sweet pepper, sweet anise, cinnamon and cloves. That characteristic sweet smell is etched in my mind, and perceiving it transports me back to that time in my life.
And I can't leave out the perfumes that have meaning for me.
When I was starting college, a friend gave me Tommy Hilfiger's Tommy Girl perfume, that's a fresh and citrus scent, and with it, I started to live my dream of studying at university.
When I started working, the first perfume I bought was "Amor Amor" by Cacharel. It is an absolutely delicious floral fragrance and marks my milestone in my working life.
And the fragrance that I love the most in the world is Anaís Anaís, also from Cacharel. This was the perfume that my grandmother used, smelling the fragrance transports me to her loving arms, I can see her splendid smile and feel her beautiful gestures of love.
Today for the fourth time I did Power Up on the first day of the month.
And I am happy to share with you that in the month of July I managed to do my first Power Up Month.
